I didn't make a single goal or resolution for 2014. On December 29 2013 my husband and I read the word on a little white stick that would change our lives forever and I had no idea what to expect for the year! My only goals were secret, and they were: to survive morning sickness and not fail my classes because of it, and plan an awesome way to surprise our family and friends with the news in Febuary. done and done.
In 2015 however, Emery and I have a lot of time on our hands and big plans on how to use it!
We have come up with (I've totally turned into one of those crazy moms speaking for my infant child) this list of 15 goals -resolutions, as you will- for 2015:
- Read the bible regularly (I make this a goal in some way every year, the word is the gift that keeps on giving and nourishes my soul! I can always improve on making it greater priority in my life.)
- Learn to sew
- Use the exercise mat during floor time with Em (I spend a lot of time sitting on the floor with Emery that I could be putting to good use!)
- Go backpacking as a family
- Read one novel (minimum) a month
- Master my new chemex coffee brewer
- Run a race - for fun
- Read the book Blog Inc. and practice
- Greet Hubby with a kiss when he walks in the door
- Plan, build and grow a backyard garden
- Sort and organize my iphoto
- Finish Mom's family photo album
- Learn a new knitting stitch
- Fill and hang photo frames in our home
- Make weekly to-do lists
I've been editing this list all week to make it new-mom manageable and attainable for my life this year. I spend a lot of time nursing and snuggling my girl on the couch, so reading goals make sense for me right now and I can't ever get enough of books! Since I'll only be taking one college course this Semester and two in the Fall, I have a lot of creative energy building up that I can invest into skills like sewing, knitting and photography.
Do you practice a form of resolution making or goal setting? My mom made a list of 14 goals for 2014 that kept her inspired all year, as well as my friend Lindi from lovecreatecelebrate. Her new goals list for 2015 is right here.
Here's to the new year!
