We just spent an amazing weekend in the mountains skiing, hiking, ice climbing, swimming and a whole lot of eating! We went with my parents so Emery had nonstop attention all weekend! Both my parents ski, but my mom hurt her back and was unable to ski this trip so she hung out with our girl in the hotel, which meant that my husband and I got to ski all day long without having to trade off watching Emery in the chalet! It was wonderful.
Last time I skied at Marmot Basin I was just a couple of weeks pregnant (it was another ski trip with my parents, but they didn't know our little secret!) and the chair lifts made me soo nauseous I rode up them with my head between my knees, haha. This trip was a lot more enjoyable, feeling healthy and strong. Plus the weather was the best I had ever experienced on the mountain!
^^ Our hotel had a great pool and a not-very-hot hot tub, which was perfect for little Em! We brought her baby boat into the hot tub and passed it around between us (the most relaxing way to look after a baby EVER haha, plus a soothing ride in the tub before bed helped Emery have the best sleep that night - praise the LORD!).
My husband and dad spent one day ice climbing in Maligne Canyon, so my mom and I hiked in with Emery to watch! It was so cool. I just got my husband a new camera lens for his birthday and I don't know how to work it very well, but I tried to take a few photos of my dad and him climbing:
^^ I love this "family photo" my mom snapped, with my husband climbing in the back ground. Emery thinks her dad is pretty cool, the day after we got home we were going to read a book so I asked her to grab one from the bookshelf. She grabbed "Alpine Climbs of the Canadian Rockies" which has a photo of a guy ice climbing on the cover. She sat down on my lap, pointed at the cover and said "Oh! Daddy!" ^^heart melt
^^ My faaaavorite restaurant in Jasper is Kimchi house Korean Restaurant. The dinner for 4 is amazing. Emery tried a little bit of everything too, she's been there before though and had already had a taste of all the dishes. Her favorite part was drinking tea out of the tiny green tea cups afterwards! Our server brought Emery a plastic dinner set with bowl, plate, fork and spoon to our table as well- SO thoughtful! ^^
We hit the slopes again Sunday morning before heading home. I want to go back already!
