Christmas, jewlery, treats, friends.. these all sounded to me like pretty great reasons to throw a pretty party. So on Monday, my mom and I did just that!
I get a little bit excited about hosting parties. Understatement of the year. I get crazy into and obsessed with hosting parties! My mom and I teamed up to host a Stella and Dot party. If you haven't ever heard of this company, check it out. They have some beautiful accessories and it's a great excuse to get all your lady friends together for an evening of fun!
First things first, I wanted to make invitations. Maybe it's old fashioned, but I just love the feeling of giving/receiving a formal invitation. I especially love if they fit the theme, it's like a clue of what's to come!
"Come to my table and share with me,
warm gingerbread cookies and cranberry tea.."
Decorating was one of the many 'funnest' parts! Mom and I decorated a week in advance. Have I mentioned yet how excited we get about hosting parties? One little detail was the salt dough ornaments tied with hemp around napkins, with the same stamp as the top corner of the invitation (a clue, a clue!). This little craft was super easy and definitely something I'll bring to the classroom one day.
Cranberry Tea (another clue!), Coffee, Hot Cocoa and Chocolate dipped candy cane stir sticks
Chocolate dipped pretzels with either coconut, peanut or candy cane topping
Gingerbread cookies (say what?! another clue!)
A fruit tray, with white chocolate stuffed rasberries. I definitely recommend those.
Vegetable boats (veggies standing up in dip filled, sliced and hollowed french loaves)
Cream cheese and pickled asparagus wrapped in ham
Mini dijon ham wraps
And this triple layer Red Velvet checkerboard cake!
Needless to say, it was a wonderful evening. So wonderful that I obviously forgot to take any pictures once our beautiful friends arrived and I got hopelessly swept up in the laughter and chatter.
13. Throw a pretty party is crossed off my 20 for 20 goal list!
